this month was a bit of a struggle to keep with the existing makeup basket and not pull all the new products into rotation! i’m struggling to use the old stuff when i have new things to explore but i really want to focus on using up some things!  finding a balance has been tricky! i’m going to mix in some new products this month with the old products in order to find that balance – hopefully.   i just don’t want things to go bad because i have more than i can use – even though i really do have more than i can use 😛

i set some goals to finish and work on products  for my july  makeup basket in my june makeup basket rewind.

last month’s goals

  • make progress on colourpop blushes
  • go through remaining single shadows to see what i want to keep and what needs to be decluttered
  • make progress on use it or lose it items
  • make progress on project pan items
  • finish bite damask – DONE! 🙂
  • finish too faced natural eyes palette – DONE 🙂
  • finish colourpop super shock shadow in eye candy
  • make a dent in sephora + pantone universe radiant rush
  • finish estee lauder lucidity light-diffusing makeup in 2W2 golden sands – SOOOOOOO CLOSEEE!!!!
  • finish maybelline age rewind

this month many of the goals continue forward.  a lot of these are long term goals involving my project pans and using products up so they take a bit of time

this month’s goals

  • make progress on colourpop blushes
  • go through mac shadows to see what i want to keep and what needs to be decluttered
  • make progress on project pan items
  • finish colourpop super shock shadow in eye candy
  • finish estee lauder lucidity light diffusing makeup in 2W2 golden sands
  • finish maybelline age rewind
  • try new foundations to see if they work for my face
  • finish milani bella eyes gel powder eyeshadow in cappiccino
  • finish sephora jumbo liner in pink glitter
  • get close to finishing maybelline powder
  • get close to finishing hourglass powder

june makeup basket rewind

this months i kept thinking about how my makeup tastes have changed and evolved since i began my makeup journey.  at one point in time i felt like i needed every purple shadow on the planet.  now i only wear certain ones.  i’m working on deciding what i want to keep and what really needs to go.  i used last month to think about my single shadows.  in the end i didn’t even end up using each one even once.  i did have some that i used and some that i used more than once.  but others are still untouched.  for this month i want to continue with these and make an effort to decide the fate of the remaining singles.

i set some goals to finish products  for my june makeup basket in my may makeup basket rewind.  last months goals involved working on a lot of products to see what i wanted to keep and what progress i could make

  • mac refined golden bronzer  – done!!!
  • go through single shadows to see what i want to keep and what i’m no longer in love with – still working on it
  • make progress on use it or lose it items – good progress made
  • make progress on colourpop blushes – still working on it
  • make progress on single shadows – still working on it
  • yves saint laurent touche eclat le teint radiance awakening foundation
  • anastasia brow wiz in soft brown – done!

some products seem to surprise me.  whether it’s the foundation i’m sure i’m going to finish that ends up not close to being finished, or the blush i think i love that i’m not impressed with.  these monthly makeup baskets have been a good way for me to use products in a timeframe that doesn’t make me bored with things but allows me to determine if i really do like something.

oh the way things work! by the time i finished the chanel foundation i had fallen in love with it in combination with my make up for ever ultra hd foundation.  I’m currently missing it.  i am trying to work through products but i may repurchase in the future.

march makeup basket rewind

so i thought i would start doing a rewind of my monthly makeup baskets.  basically a way for me to look at the products i selected, how i liked them, how they worked together, if i would change anything and a billion other things!  i also want to review the monthly goals i set for myself and set new goals for the month!

so we shall begin!  if you didn’t read my march makeup basket i shall link it for ease of access 🙂
